Bill C-15 seeks to impose, for the first time in Canadian history, mandatory prison sentences
for many non-violent drug offenders, even though all credible research, including a study by the
Justice Department, concludes that mandatory minimum sentencing does nothing to deter
crime or protect the public.
Bill C-15 is so draconian that it includes a mandatory prison sentence of 6 to 9 months for growing
a single cannabis plant!
