Sample letter to your Member of the Legislative Assembly in Alberta below

September 12, 2021

Dear YOUR MLA’s FIRST-NAME & LAST-NAME HERE, Premier Jason Kenney, Minister Kaycee Madu, Minister Tyler Shandro, Associate Minister Mike Ellis, Minister Jason Luan, Minister Doug Schweitzer, Minister Travis Toews

I am writing to you today to recommend improvements to the AGLC commitment to provide the most innovative cannabis model that offers choices Albertans can trust.

Like many Albertans, I believe that lifestyle choices should not be a barrier to being able to live a healthy & happy life, and that a productive and prosperous economy requires a physical and psychological healthy population.

As humans, social interaction is essential to every aspect of our health. Research shows that having a strong network of support or strong community bonds fosters both emotional and physical health and is an important component of adult life. Over the years, there have been a number of studies showcasing the relationship between social support and the quality of physical and psychological health.

My concerns are:

The Tobacco, Smoking and Vaping Reduction Act allows indoor cigar lounges to open but not cannabis consumption lounges.

The lack of a regulated social gathering place for responsible adults to consume cannabis legally.

Albertans living in shared accommodation and apartments aren't allowed to gather socially in a clean and safe environment with like -minded adults.

Thank you,

Include your name and address at the end of the letter.
Your postal code is very important as it shows that you are a member of your MLA’s constituency.
